*"Dunk the Mayor Auction Fundraiser" *
The Mayor of Ithaca, Svante Myrick has agreed to get in a dunk tank for a good cause. We will be auctioning the balls to try to dunk the Mayor. 8 Balls Total. Balls will go to the highest bidder. Auction will start at 11:15 AM Saturday September 22nd. You don't wanna miss this!

*Button Drawing:
We will be selling Latin Root buttons at the event. On the back of select buttons will be a number. We will draw a number out of the hat that corresponds with the button and the winner will get a prize!*

*50/50 Raffle:*
*Tickets On Sale all day. We will draw a name out of the hat. We will announce the winner at the end of the event. The winner will receive 1/2 of the money gathered from sales of these tickets. So buy as many as you can.
Lets get this pot nice and big!*

   - 2:00 P.M.        Performances by “Urban Latin Soul” artist Ayana D
   - 2:15 P.M.        Palante Salsa en Rueda Dance Troupe/Hiram & Johnathan
   Kline Afro Cuban Percussion
   - 2:45 P.M.        DJ Michael Luis
   - 3:00 P.M.        The Gunpoets perform their cutting edge new school
   hip hop sound with a splash of Latin flare!
   - 4:00 P.M.        Salsa Dancing with Felipe & Cynthia from F & C Dance

   Carlos Gutierrez Chilean Singer/Musician

LCA Annual Picnic

Alright friends the day is coming up! The LCA Annual Picnic. Don't know about you but I am very, very excited! We will have some awesome music. We will have some awesome food and we will have some awesome kids activities! Hula Hooping thanks to Becki Hawley at Groove Revolution, face-painting thanks to Norma Soledad Gutierrez and a bounce house and kids water activities thanks to Vicki Taylor Brous at DIA.

We are still in need of 2-4 adult volunteers to help with kid activities 11:30am till about 5pm or so, for the Latino Civic Association Annual Picnic this Sunday July, 8th at Stewart Park, Ithaca, NY. Please let me know if you would like to help. Remember this is for the kids!

Let’s Get Ready! is a national organization that runs over 50 college programs throughout the northeast. Let’s Get Ready! trains Cornell University students for the Cornell program offered every Spring.

Are you a high school student interested in going to college but need help gaining the resources to do so? Do you qualify for free or reduced lunch?

If the answer to both questions are yes, you qualify for this program!

The Spring 2012 program will be held at Ithaca High School and will run for 8 weeks.
Let’s Get Ready! is open to students from all nearby schools.
