Press Conference Announcing Major Wage and Hour Violations at Tompkins County Restaurants: Thursday, 12/10 @ 12:30 p.m. at Tompkins County Workers’ Center

On Thursday, December 10th, at 12:30 p.m. at the Tompkins County Workers' Center (115 E. Martin Luther King, Jr. Street/The Commons), the Commissioner of the New York State Department of Labor (DOL), Patricia Smith, will be joined by Pete Meyers of the Workers’ Center and Carolyn Peterson, Mayor of the City of Ithaca, in announcing the results of a wage and hour violations 'sweep' conducted by the DOL of restaurants in Tompkins County that took place earlier this year.

68% of the restaurants investigated were found to have wage and hour violations. Seven restaurants, in particular, were found to have violations that will return close to $100,000 to approximately 70 people.
